Hours of Operation: The Youth Center daily hours, throughout the School Year are: Monday – Friday, 2:00pm – 7:00pm. The building follows the school calendar. The only exception for this is when there are Special Events scheduled. The Youth Center is Closed on Saturday & Sunday. 

Road to Success Program: By the numbers: 86 RTS students have earned their GEDs 9 students scored with honors. Our Guest speakers for October included: Coaching the Global Village Staff, Domestic Abuse, Family life Center, Girls Connect Group, FTI – Cosmetology Program Manager, Know the Law presented by DJJ. 9 students in October earned their First Aid & CPR certifications. 3 Students were employed.  2 Students enrolled into College/trade schools 5 Completed their Home Health Aid Certifications.  10 Completed their Graduation Pictures 5 students are now involved in Internships -Work Experiences, some have made over $4,000. Wyotec staff, conducted interviewing workshop and Wyotec overview.  Field trips schedule for November include:  Zipline at Camp Winona, Daytona State College’s Palm Coast Campus, Marinland behind the scenes tour and feed dolphins.

Youth Centers Student Advisory Council Welcome Back BBQ: Due to Hurricane Matthew the original date for event was cancelled and the back-up date of Tuesday, 11/18 was used.  Coach Steve fired up the grill and cooked over 80 Hamburgers and an additional 30 hot dogs, and all participants enjoyed eating after school. The lager crowd seemed to enjoy themselves and the Student Advisory Council did a super job facilitating the event.

Youth Center’s SWAT: Students Working Against Tobacco Chapter Updates: The group has been extremely busy!  First, on Thursday, 11/13, SWAT Chair: Destiny Cole lead a group of youth hosting a table at BTMS Resource Show, and had signed over 4o contacts NOT to smoke. Tobacco Prevention Specialist Ms. Heather presented “Tobacco 21” to almost 20 SWAT participants on Monday 11/17. The final goal would be to increase the legal age of smoking, in Florida, from 18 to 21. Red Ribbon week had all YC Swat members attending the Movie Steadfast, and manning a table prior to the show. On Thursday, the group handed out Red Ribbon gifts to FPC students at lunch.  Finally, on 11/27, youth center participants heard from Young Marine PFC Manley, about the harmful effects of drugs. 

DJJ Community Garden Volunteers Needed:  The Youth Center helps sponsor the DJJ Community Garden and is in its 7^th year of operation. The garden grows Fresh Vegetables and donates all food to the Food Pantry, to help feed Flagler County families I need. The garden in run by David Tibbetts, a Flagler County Master Gardner, and David is always looking for volunteers to help maintaining the garden and its surroundings. Any interested youth, in obtaining Community Service Hours, working a vegetable garden is encouraged to call David at: 386-986-2248, to volunteer.

Student Advisory Council’s FREE OPEN MIC: Thursday, November 10^th, 7pm -9pm: If you can sing, dance, read poetry, or event tell jokes, mark your calendar and plan to attend this FUN event! Nobody said you had to be good, juts need to be brave! Open to any HS & MS Youth wishing to participate.

Flagler County Basketball Program Returns to Carver: Once again the Flagler County Basketball program, under the direction of Coach Belgrave and volunteers, is beginning their second year utilizing the Carver Gym.
