Holiday Happening Giveaway
Quick Tournaments
Unfortunately, due to the weather, the Youth Center Dodgeball Tournament sponsored by the FCYC Student Advisory Club (SAC) was canceled. However, in light of the situation, FCYC Student Advisory Club held a single elimination pool tournament and a round-robin ping pong tournament instead of the originally intended day for the dodgeball tournament. The winner of the pool tournament this time was Calvin Cofield. As for ping pong, the winner of the tournament was Daniel Rondon. The Youth Center and FCYC SAC will continue to strive to create events that interest those who attend.
A NFL Madden tournament will be taking place on Wednesday, December 6th at 3:00PM. Students can sign up in the Youth Center until the deadline on Monday, December 4th. A $20 WAWA gift card will be given to the winner and a $10 WAWA gift card to the runner up. Additionally, the Youth Center is hosting its annual holiday raffle on Wednesday, December 20th.
PBIS Rewards
During November, the Flagler County Youth Center continued its efforts to promote positive behavior both inside and outside the classroom. On Tuesday, November 14th, 2023, the Youth Center conducted its third-grade check for the year. Students who achieved all A's on their progress report were rewarded with pizza, chips, and a drink. Those with A's and B's had the option to choose two of these rewards, while those with A's, B's, and C's could choose one reward. Additionally, we recognized students with good attendance during this event. We encourage our students to continue working hard to improve their grades and personal growth.

Additionally, we introduced our seniors to chair aerobics and plan to incorporate it more in the upcoming months. On November 21, we hosted a Thanksgiving Luncheon accompanied by a game of bingo. Our Senior Social Hour has been a delightful opportunity for seniors to gather and socialize.

Road to Success Update
The Road to Success (RTS) program has successfully awarded 349 GEDs to date, with 2 students graduating in November. Since the inception of the program, we have achieved a remarkable 98% positive outcome. This month, we invited the Domestic Abuse Council to speak to our students about relationships. Additionally, three RTS students completed their internships at Belle Terre Swim & Racquet Club, the Flagler Youth Center, and Shoreline Turf & Pest Control. We also welcomed a new student intern at the Flagler Youth Center. Notably, our intern placed at Shoreline Turf & Pest Control was offered a full-time position with the company this month. We are continuously seeking partnerships with local companies for internships. Lastly, some of our students, alumni, and community partners joined the RTS staff for our annual Thanksgiving luncheon, held at The Landing Strip. For more information about the GED program or student internships, please contact Brian Willard at 386.437.8279. We extend our warmest wishes to you and your family for a delightful holiday season!
