Program Information and Hours: The Youth Center is a safe and secure facility where students can grow socially, emotionally, and physically.  Currently, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Youth Center is closed.

Director’s Message:  It’s crazy how much things can change in a short amount of time.  In just a few months we have transitioned to a virtual learning platform, graduation has been moved to a drive through graduation at the Daytona International Speedway (which, personally, I think is the coolest thing ever), and the way we interact socially has been upended.  One of my favorite lines from one of my favorite movies comes from “moneyball” when Billy Beane says, “adapt or die”.  During this pandemic, I think Flagler Schools has done a better job of adapting than any organization in the world!  So, in keeping with that spirit, I would like to announce that today, the Flagler County Youth Center is going virtual!  For the month of May, every Monday - Friday from 3-5, the youth center will have a zoom available for all high school students in Flagler County.  We will have two breakout rooms.  One, where students can chat with each other and socialize virtually with their friends.  The other room will be a virtual game room where students will be able to play with other students.  At this time, the virtual youth center is open to high schoolers only.

Summer Camp: At this time, summer camp registration is still suspended until we get further guidance from the state on social distance protocols for the summer.  Please check back later on our website http://flagleryouthcenter.com/summer for more details.

Road to Success Program: This year to date RTS students have earned 226 GEDs, with 27 students who received honors.   Students are obtaining their GEDs, going into the military, getting jobs and enrolling into local colleges.  Since the crisis we have moved from classroom learning to virtual learning through Zoom.  Students received take home packets, GED books and practice tests to study at home.  Students who didn't have laptops or ipads received one his month. RTS staff have been and are ready and available to assist with resumes and job searching.

We have created a virtual job board for the students.  Awe have a new internship starting in May at C&K Drywall services. RTS is currently taking applications over the phone and through emails.  We will continue to be open year-round, youth earn your GED before the summer ends.

If you have any questions about enrolling into the RTS Youth Program or would like to partner with our Paid Internship program, please contact us at 386.437.8279.   Willardb@flaglerschools.com , Brian Willard, Program Manager.

George Washington Carver Community Center: Currently, The George Washington Carver Center is closed, just like all county and school district facilities.  Lunch distribution is still taking place, however we have moved to the parking lot next door of the Versa Lee Mitchell Community Center.  Pizza Parle and Flagler Basketball has been canceled for this month.
