Youth Center’s Summer Camp Registration: Once again the Youth Center will sponsor their annual Summer Camp, for youth going into 6th grade – youth going into 9th grade. March is the beginning for Open Enrollment. for campers. This year’s program runs Monday – Friday, from 8:00am – 5:00pm beginning on Wednesday, June 8th, and concludes on Friday, July 22nd. Registration is open until all spaces are filled and is based on a first come first serve basis. The TOTAL cost for camp is $150.00. Throughout the program there are various trips, which you can pay as you choose to go, including destinations like: Daytona Lagoon, Universal Studios, Typhoon Lagoon, to name a few. G.W. Carver Annual On-Line Auction: : The 2016 Auction is set to begin on Wednesday April 6th and conclude on Wednesday, April 27th. Currently, Many items will return from last year’s auction. However, Foundation members are currently collecting new item to add to Auction list. If you have any item or service you would like to donate to th8s great cause, please contact the Youth center, for assistance.

Road To Success Program: RTS has 2 seats are left for this year, which ends June 30th. To-date 67 students have earned their GEDs with 7 students scoring honors. We are looking to partner with another local business for one of our youth to complete a paid “work experience”. Our Guest speakers for February included, Wells Fargo conducting banking & financials workshops, Girlsfriends Connected, female mentoring by Sharell Arneaud. Bounce Marketing Inc – personal and business budgeting, soft skills, Coaching the Global Village, Inc workshops, Jesse McGee from Case Management Inc. – Life skills workshops, 4 Students obtained their Food Handlers Certification, 2 obtained jobs. 7 earned their diplomas; Samuel Rivera, Myah Hedgepeth, Sarah Green, Jonathan Nowells, Raekwon Holmes, Zyanna Wheeler, Bradley Davis – Congratulations. On March 8th, RTS Youth Program had there Open House at the Carver Center in Bunnell and had a great turn out. March Motown Madness, Saturday, March 26th Review: March Motown Madness Review: On March 26th, a Saturday evening, the G.W. carver Foundation hosted “Motown Madness”., a Dinner/Dance event that include music by “Traces of Gold”. The event was wonderful, and honored Reverend Giddens, for his lifelong commitment to the development of the Carver Center as well as the entire community. Close to 150 participants enjoyed the evening and helped support the continued efforts of the G.W. Carver Foundation. Five youth, from the Annual “Spotlight on Youth Talent Show” performed a song each, and each received a standing ovation. Congratulations to: Edwina Mezo-Brown, Jada Gurino, Eric Dangerfield, Ashanna Jones, and Justice Butler, on their outstanding performances.
Review: FCYC Relay for Life Dodgeball Tournament: On Thursday, March 24th the Youth Center hosted its 2nd Annual Relay for Life Dodgeball Tournament in the FPC 800 gym. This year's tournament included seven different teams, which included last year’s winners the FPC Wrestlerettes. The other participating teams included the FCYC Student Advisory Council, FPC Interact Club, FPC SGA, FCYC SWAT, FPC Tennis Team, and the FPC Key Club. The winners of this year’s tournament was the FPC Wrestlerettes which included: Evyn Insalaco, Trace Insalaco, Michael DeAugustino, Avery Holder, Steve Canidate, and Tariq Johnson. The Wrestlerettes have now won twice consecutively and look to challenge teams next year to strip them of their title. As winners $125 will be donated to Relay for Life to help fight cancer. A pizza party will be awarded to them and a nameplate will be added to the cup trophy. The Youth Center’s Student Advisory Council placed second and $50 will be donated to Relay for Life in their name. The FPC Tennis Team finished third and $25 will be donated to Relay for Life in their name. We would like to thank everyone that participated and hope to see you again next year!
