Hours of Operation: The Youth Center daily hours, throughout the School Year are: Monday – Friday, 2:00pm – 7:00pm. The building follows the school calendar. The only exception for this is when there are Special Events scheduled. The Youth Center is Closed on Saturday & Sunday.  

 

Brandon Seminara: 2017 Flagler Schools Employee of the Year: The Youth Centers Assistant Director was selected from a strong panel of colleagues as the schools district Employee of the Year! A well-deserved honor to super employee and professional!

 

Road to Success Program Update 2017: RTS has helped 95 students to-date earn their GEDs with 12 students scoring with honors.  Our guest speakers for this month were staff from the Coaching the Global Village working on budgeting workshops and FTI’s Travis Thomas who did an overview of their programs as well as conducted life skills training. We were honored to have Taahira Lee, our Case Manager be one of the nominees for Flagler Schools Employee of the Year. RTS has had a 92% success rate this year for students earning their GEDs.  We had five students complete our paid work experience portion of the program with three of them landing jobs with the same companies.  February we will be conducting First Aid and CPR certifications, Food Handlers Certifications and have two more students start the Work Experience portion of the program.  If you would like more information about the program, please contact Brian Willard, Program Manager at 386-437-8279.

 

2017 Child/ Baby Fair: A group of youth representing the FPC Problem Solvers, are putting together a Child/Baby Fair, for Saturday, February 4th, 2017, an event that is scheduled to meet the needs of babies, are youngest community members, and their families. Many local child providers will be on site, to assist you with your family’s needs. Food will be supplied by the Chicken Pantry, and drawings for prizes will take place during the entire event. Mark your calendars today, and plan to take advantage of this wonderful NEW event.

 

We Love You Give-A-Way: On Thursday, February 9th, the Youth Center will hold the “We Love You” Give-a-way, to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Lots of treats will be available for everyone to select from. No cost is involved; all you have to do is be present!

Black Family (Minority) Summit: Scheduled for Carver on Saturday. February 25th, from 10am -2:00pm.  Mark your calendars NOW and plan to attend an event that will open up necessary information and conversation concerning: Know the Law & Civil Citations, Youth and Law Enforcement, Human Trafficking, and Faith with today’s youth. Participants will be treated to information from area professionals.  At the conclusion of the event a Pizza Parle will be held with all in attendance, discussing local issues facing communities and today’s youth. All in attendance will also have a chance to win a new Flat Panel TV. Hosted by Focus on Flagler Youth Coalition.

Motown Madness: Saturday March 25th: Yes, this wonderful FUN event will return to the G.W. Carver Center!  Tickets will be $50pp, and will go on sales very soon. Mark your calendars today, to not miss this wonderful fund raising event, hosted by the G.W. Carver Foundation.

2017 Spotlight on Youth Talent Show OPEN Auditions: Tuesday & Wednesday: April 18th & 19th, in the Youth Center. Any K-12 grade Flagler County Youth is eligible to audition for a spot in the 2017 Spotlight Talent Show.  If you can sing, dance, play an instrument, or possess a special talent, you are welcome to audition. Prizes will be awarded in the Elementary, Middle, and High School Divisions.
