Hours of Operation: The Youth Center daily hours, throughout the School Year are: Monday – Friday, 2:00pm – 7:00pm.  The Youth Center is Closed on Saturday & Sunday.  

 

WELCOME BACK: We Missed You!!!

 

Program Overview: Thanks to the Flagler County Board of Commissioners and Flagler County School Board, The Flagler County Youth Center is available, for FREE, to any 7th -12th youth who resides in Flagler County, every school day, from 2:00pm – 7:00pm. Unfortunately, transportation to and from the facility is not available.

Therefore, if you can get to this after school recreational facility, and get picked up by 7:00pm, you are able to take advantage of this wonderful program.  In the Youth Center, a safe and secure drop-in program, you can relax with friends, play ping-pong or pool, watch TV, read and do homework, play PS4 Games, and utilize the large computer lab.  If you have never been in the center stop by and check us out, you may never want to leave!

2017 Youth Center Staff: Cheryl Massaro will return for her 13th year as Director of both the Flagler County Youth Center and George Washington Carver Community Center. FPC Graduate; Brandon Seminara, Flagler Schools 2017 Employee of the Year, returns for his 5th year as Assistant Center Director. Part time staff include: Eric Guerrero, Charmain Pendin, Mike Bavacqua, and Wade Gray. A wonderful team of professionals on hand to insure a safe and fun after school environment for all participants.

 

2017 Youth Center Summer Camp Review:  Sixty Flagler County youth grades 6th -9th, took advantage of this very popular Summer Camp program. It was an awesome summer, and time flew by!  Participates enjoyed the Red, White, and Blue Team Challenge, E-Game competitions, Gym activities, Movies and Field Trips. All staff hope to see everyone back next summer, but remember this camp fills quickly, so do not delay when registering for the 2018 Summer Camp program.   

 

Youth Center’s Student Advisory Council: (SAC): The Youth Center is governed by a Student Advisory Council (SAC), much like a school is governed by a student council. The group meets twice a month, and sponsors a number of events throughout the year, and is highly involved in Community Service projects. This club is open to all HS & MS youth who participate in the Youth Center. To sign-up, stop by the Youth Center after school and complete a brief application form.

 

Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) Club @ Youth Center: If you are tired of all the sneaky promotions and tricks “BIG TOBACCO” uses to lure smokers, this after school club is for you! The group meets every other Monday, in the Youth Center and is open to any 7th -12th graders.  To sign-up, stop by the Youth Center after school and complete a brief application form.

Road to Success Program Update 2017: RTS has helped 115 young adults earn their G E Ds, 12 with honors, along with life skills and pre-employment training.  Workshops included networking 101, business cards, resumes, FTI overview presentation.  Field trips included going to Daytona Beach Speedway for behind the scenes tour.  Seven students have completed the Paid Work experience portion of the program.  Students are working at local agencies like, Habitat for Humanity and Flagler Humane Society. RTS graduates attended FTIs graduation ceremony on June 7th at the Flagler Auditorium.
