Hours of Operation: The Youth Center daily hours, throughout the School Year are: Monday – Friday, 2:00pm – 7:00pm. Summer Hours: The Youth Center operates a Summer Camp, Monday – Friday, from 8am -5:30pm daily. All participants MUST be previously registered to attend.
Summer Camp Update: The 2018 Summer Camp starts on Monday, June 4th for all registered participants. The camp is eight weeks long and the doors will open daily at 8:00am and close promptly at 5:30pm. Throughout the summer there will be daily activities offered as well as some awesome field trips. Open Registration started in March and the camp was full within one month. If you are interested in having your child participate next year be sure to be on the lookout for the 2019 registration dates.
Summer Camp Trips: This year the Youth Center Summer Camp will host ten field trips that are available for sign up. Trips: Daytona Lagoon: June 8th, June 20th, and July 21st. Universal /Islands of Adventure: June 13th. Bowling: June 22nd and July 13th. IMAX: June 27th. Hangar 15: July 18th. Epic Movies: July 20th. Typhoon Lagoon: July 25th. Trips are open to any 6th-12th grade student if there is space available. An emergency form will need to be completed prior to signing up for a trip. Road To Success Program: RTS has helped 151 young adults earn their GEDs to date with 16 earning honors. RTS is a year-round program and will be enrolling during the summer. Our workshops and field trips this month included: RTS staff with resumes, career assessments, job searching Flagler Technical Institute program overview, Sayskids conducted a workshop on Individual communication practices, DJJ’s “ Know the Law” was presented, Nurse Linda Broxton provided First Aid & CPR Certification class, Howard Johnson, provided Food Handlers Certification, Graduation pictures were taken on May 4th for RTS students, students went on a field trip to Daytona State Colleges ATC campus. RTS graduates will be attending Flagler Technical Institute’s graduation ceremony at the Flagler Auditorium that starts at 7:00pm on June 6th, we have 35 eligible students that are invited to graduation. This contract year we have enrolled 38 students with 7 remaining seats open until July 1st. Spotlight Talent Show Results: Thursday, May 24th 7:00pm in the Flagler Auditorium. This year there was over thirty performers that participated in this year’s show. Trophies were awarded to 1st - 3rd place winners in each division. Congratulations to all participants especially the following winners, 3rd Place: Brianna Jacobs (Imagine), Jade Guarino (ITMS), White Deer Lane Hoffman Lane (HS). 2nd Place: Seneca Amaral (WES), Sarah Malinowski (ITMS), Brea Dwyer (MHS). 2018 Entertainers of the Year: Isabella Derie (RES), Emma Schwen (BTMS) Emma Reiter (BES), Landen Looker (BTMS), and Samantha Shumaker (FPC).
